This is my work I showed in the group photo gallery, which was held in the beginning of December, 2011. (The photo above is a simulation image, since I couldn't take a good photo of my work at the exhibition.)

These two photos are a comparison of the two places where relate to me. One is my hometown, the countryside; and the other is the city where I currently live. You will be able to find the difference and similarity between them.

I have printed them in size of 594 cm by 420 cm with wood paneling. I also didn't want to be stack in the frame of "photography," so I gave a twist to the display by adding illustrations, which relates to each photos. Illustrations are hand drawn and cut out by a exacto knife.

今月始めに開いたグループ写真展「対比」での私の作品はこんな感じだった。展示の様子をうまく写真に収められなかったため、シミュレーションの画像しかないのが残念。

タイトルは「可不可」。実家の田舎と今住んでいる都会の対比で、どちらに住んでもそれぞれに良いところと気に入らないところがあり、住めば都、可も無く不可も無くという意味合いが込められている。

写真はA2サイズの木製パネルに仕上げてもらった。更に、「グラフィックデザイナーなのでフォトグラフィーに縛られたくない」というエゴにも近い思いと「壁に立て掛けるだけではつまらない」という思いのもと、イラストを付け加えてみるというひねりを展示方法に加えてみた。田舎と都会を連想させるイラストをそれぞれの作品の上下に配置。イラストは手書きにこだわりノートにスケッチしたのを適切なサイズまで引き伸ばし、ラミネートを上から張って、カッターで切り抜いた。もう少し丁寧に仕上げたかったけれども、結果的に満足のいくものができたと思う。

今回の写真展で一番反響があったのはやはり「家族の耳」だったのではないだろうか。こんなにじっくり人の耳を見たことも比べたことも無かったのですごく新鮮だった。
